Biography of Rev. Philemon Nangkureh Nuo-ere

Rev. Philemon Nangkureh Nuo-ere was born on the 21st of March, 1991 to Mr. Patrick Nangkureh and Mrs. Aloysia Nangkureh. He hails from Nandom in the Upper West Region of Ghana.

Rev. Philemon had part of his basic education in Nandom, St. Cecilia Primary School and St. Maria Goretti Junior High School but eventually completed Our Lady of Fatima Junior High School, Tamale in 2007. He had his Secondary Education at Damongo Senior High School for four years and successfully completed in 2011.

After completion, he worked at the Pastoral Centre, Tamale for a year before applying to the St. Victor’s Major Seminary in 2012. In the same year, he was offered admission to the Seminary and he began his formation to the priesthood at the St Michael’s Propaedeutic Seminary in Kaleo. In 2013, he was promoted to St Augustine Millenium Major Seminary, Tamale where he had his philosophical studies for three years. Again he was promoted in 2016 to St Victor’s Major Seminary, Main campus for his theological studies.

After three years of studying theology, he was recommended by the formators for a year of pastoral experience and was appointed by the archbishop to Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Tamale. In 2020, he was readmitted to the Seminary to complete his formation and was ordained a deacon on November 21, 2020 by His Grace, Most Rev. Philip Naameh.

Today, by the grace of God, he will be ordained a Catholic Priest for the Archdiocese of Tamale by Most Rev. Philip Naameh, Metropolitan Archbishop of Tamale.
